ARTIST : JEFFERSON AIRPLANE

They were the lightening rods of psychedelic rock, throbbing and swirling like amoebas during a liquid light show. Bursting out of San Francisco's Haight-Asbury, Jefferson Airplane came to symbolize the hippie ethos of 1967's Summer of Love with anthems like "White Rabbit" and "Somebody To Love." In the process we fell head over heels with JA's Feed Your Head Queen, the always provocative Gracie Slick. Peace, love and pharmaceuticals!
